The inspiration for this styled shoot was to establish a welcoming and soft setting by bringing outdoor elements into a traditional ballroom setting. The venue, the InterContinental Mark Hopkins is a breathtaking four star property that has an understated elegance and proudly displaying the architecture and craftsmanship of the era it was built while maintaining its beautiful 1920′s charm. In particular Peacock Court, the largest and most opulent ballroom was chosen as the backdrop for this shoot, featuring twenty six foot ceilings, intricate moldings, and six floor to ceiling windows featuring an abundance of natural summer light. With that being said, the floral design focused on a blush color palate featuring a summer favorite, peonies along with a garden inspired garland delicately draped over the sparkling sweetheart table. Gorgeous linens in shades of Pearl Lamour, Ankara Taupe, and a little glamour of Paris Blush were selected and a touch of amber up-lighting finished off the look. To enhance the typical cocktail reception setup, vintage inspired lounge furniture was brought in to showcase a more attractive reception setup and polished with small accents florals and mixed metals. The Mark Hopkins Pastry Team designed an earth tone wedding cake lavishly decorated with summer berries and our Executive Chef created his versions of some popular summer nibbles, best served butler passed around the dance floor late into the evening.
