Her second year of college at UC Santa Cruz was about to begin and she was moving into a new condo before the first day of school. As she was moving boxes and going up and down flights of stairs, she paused and looked out the window. She spotted him. He wasn’t doing anything unusual that caught her eye; he was unloading groceries out of a Volvo from a recent trip to Costco. He wasn’t wearing anything flashy that caught her eye; it was his usual white t-shirt and jeans ensemble that he has been known to wear. It was somewhere deep within her heart that she already knew she loved him. She walked down the stairs again and met him face-to-face. He of course offered to help her move-in because that’s just the kind of guy he is, and maybe perhaps deep in his heart he too knew he already loved her.
