LOVE STORY
While Kelsey and Cory were scuba diving in Hanauma Bay, Cory told Kelsey that he had brought an underwater writing tablet to point out different fish or plants. He turned around after writing something on the tablet, but instead of pointing out another fish, he wrote, “Will you marry me?” and had a ring under the water. They finished their dive, went out to breakfast and celebrated the rest of the weekend.

LOVE STORY
Lynn and Mathew met through work over eight years ago and although they saw that they worked well together professionally, they also realized that they also got along well personally, and quickly fell in love. While swimming during a Hawaiian vacation, Mathew asked Lynn to be his wife and make him the happiest person in the world.

Vendor Ingenuity Spotlight with Jasmin Manning of Monocle Project

Name: Jasmin Manning
Title: Founder/Photographer
Company Name: Monocle Project

We are…
A husband + wife photography team who are hopelessly passionate about our life’s work.

I find inspiration…
In light! Nothing quite does it for me as a gorgeous stream of light, subtle reflections, and the glistening sun.

The décor element I never tire of…
Paper-like florals. I adore textures and layers, so peonies, poppies, hydrangeas, and any other floral that oozes delicate texture is simply splendid!

The perfect wedding day signature cocktail…
A berry mojito. Not only is it sweet, it’s also refreshing and elegant, not unlike a perfect wedding story.

My favorite wedding color palette combination is…
It depends on the season and setting. Summer/spring is great for splashes of lively color like a tangy tangerine accent or crisp turquoise with it’s warm coral counterpart. In the fall/winter I gush over striking jewel tones like emerald-greens, ruby-reds, and even deep plum-purples. Dusty lavenders/greys with blush pinks are always winners, too.

One or two words to describe my style…
Artful + fun+ timeless. (I chose three, I’m a bit of a rule-breaker, I know).

I love weddings because…
The glory of a marriage is commenced and celebrated on your wedding day. It’s a splendor not everyone knows and having experienced my own wedding day I am all the more enthused about capturing others’ grandeur and rejoicing.

Something every couple should know after they get engaged…
Take time to celebrate each other and enjoy this season of life. Being engaged is a beautiful time of one’s life like no other, so cherish it for what it is instead of jumping head-first into planning.

My best advice to couples for the big day…
Determine what it is you cherish most and prioritize. Also, hire a coordinator so you and your fiancé can savor every moment of your glorious wedding day.

If I could have any other occupation in the world, it would be…
Master photographer of the world! Well, I’m on my way.

If I had no limits, my dream vacation would be…
Never-ending travels and exploration around the world! I am surely an explorer at heart and am so grateful to have grown up traveling the world and it’s splendors.

Deserted island. Three objects? Go…
#1 Husband—he is a master of survival. #2 and #3 I would leave up to his discretion, he really does know better than I in this case.

The app I can’t live without is…
The calendar app. Does that make me a geek?

I am currently listening to…
Ben Howard iTunes radio. Ben Howard’s “Diamonds” was actually the recession song at my ceremony — love that guy’s music.

My favorite holiday is…
Christmas. I start the celebrations in September.

The tastiest drink indulgence is…Tea, tea & tea.
I love Jasmine Dragon pearl tea, matcha green tea frappuccinos, and english breakfast lattes, mmm.

The best day of my life…
Yes, you guessed it! My wedding day—still swooning! I encourage you to check out my wedding video on my about page at monocleproject.com. We truly are passionate about what we do and love to share a little glimpse into the love we share.

Three words to describe my dream wedding…
I believe I had it with Ryan, my husband + Jesus,  my savior + flowers, my favorite things.

My favorite staycation spot is…
Parker Palm Springs + Korakia.

My favorite thing on my desk is…
As of this moment, my passport. This little thing has taken me around the world and will soon be accompanying me and my husband for a two month trip throughout London + Europe, hooray!

Something most people don’t know about me…
Shortly before launching Monocle Project I spent two months living at an orphanage in Brazil volunteering with children victims of sex trafficking and drug crimes. Life-changing.
