LOVE STORY
There was an immediate undeniable spark between Lindsay and Brian. The first night they met, Brian called to make sure that Lindsay had made it home safely and they could not hang up the phone. They were able to get to know each other better over the phone, through day trips, and weekend getaways. They dated long distance for over two years before Brian moved to the Bay Area to be with his future wife.

I got started in the wedding business…
In 2012.

A little bit about my background…
When I was younger, all the little girls I knew wanted to be the beautiful princess that ended up married happily to the handsome prince. And yes, I also wanted that. But I was more fascinated with the fairy godmother that makes her dreams come true and helps to give her the magical night that leads to her happily ever after. Being able to grant that wish to all brides is my fairy godmother moment. That is part of my dream come true.

I find inspiration…
In just be about everything. You never really know when you’re going to see something and have your “A-Ha!” moment. Sometimes you are eating eggs and toast for breakfast, and then you look down to find your yolk in the shape of a heart, and the idea of an omelet bar for a bridal shower luncheon hits you. You just have to keep your eyes, mind and heart open to what the world shows you.

My design philosophy is…
Know and understand who you’re designing for. All clients are different, and really getting to know them is essential to pulling together the right elements for the design board that fits their taste and style. We all have details that we love or are fans of, but asking the right questions and listening to their answers…that’s always the key.

My favorite wedding color palette combination is…
A nice pale pink, mint green and glittery gold. It’s an alluring combination of femininity and sparkle.

I love weddings because…
What’s not to love about witnessing two people declare their love for one another in front of their family and friends, and then celebrating with tasty food and happy people?! I’m a very emotional person and I’m a sucker for love.

Something every couple should know after they get engaged…
Hire a wedding planner/coordinator! I have heard countless stories of things going awry at peoples’ weddings because they decided after spending tens of thousands of dollars on everything else for their big day, they wanted to save some money and forgo a planner/coordinator because they think they’ve got everything covered because they are so organized. However, even if you are the writer and an actor of a movie or film, you’d still need a director! You just can’t do it all and still enjoy the experience of getting married. Having a great planner/coordinator is the equivalent of buying insurance for a huge investment. Why spend all that money on such a special day and not secure the right team to ensure that all runs smoothly? You simply can’t relive that one day, so don’t try to save where it counts and risk what could turn into a major disaster. Great memories are priceless.

My best advice to couples for the big day…

Take a deep breath and be present. Relish each moment and truly enjoy this experience because it will pass quickly. Remember, this day is not about anyone else. It’s about celebrating your love for each other, so don’t let anyone or any experience take that away from you.

If I could have any other occupation in the world, I would…
Be a matchmaker. Nothing makes me happier than helping people find love, then watching them get married and walk off into the sunset hand-in-hand is pure bliss. Yes, I’m that cheesy girl.

If I had no limits, my dream vacation would be…
A cruise around the world. I love to travel on cruises! I love that it’s like a hotel that travels with you and provides endless food and drinks! I won’t have to worry about transportation, unpacking then repacking at each destination, and people not being able to assist me because I don’t speak the language. Not to mention, nothing relaxes me like looking at the waves in the ocean, and since there isn’t any cell service on the ship, I have no choice but to unplug and unwind.

My favorite sports team is…
The Los Angeles Lakers! I’m a season ticket holder and even when then chips are down (which they are right now), I’m loyal girl who keeps on cheering! I believe!

If I could have front row seats to any concert, I would see…
Taylor Swift. That is so embarrassing to admit, but I am indeed a Swifty. The girl has such style, is a girl’s girl and sings songs with actual lyrics from the heart. I also really love NSYNC, so if they got back together to do a concert, I’d be there in a heartbeat (sorry, Taylor!).

The app I can’t live without is…
Pocket Informant. It is a personal organizer that combines your calendar schedule, tasks and notes. It keeps me organized and focused, which is essential in my line of work.

My favorite restaurant of all time is…
Bottega Louie! I love their portobello fries and pasta. My hubby takes me there for all of our special occasions. Oh and the beautiful and tasty macarons…enough said.

I am currently listening to…

Sam Smith. His voice is so melodic and soothing to me.

My favorite places to shop are…
Kate Spade and The Limited. I like classic styles with a pop of fun mixed in.

My favorite holiday is…
Valentine’s Day! Hearts, flowers and candy. Yes, please! Give me any occasion to celebrate love; I’ll take it!

The tastiest food indulgence is…
The perfect grilled cheese sandwich (good ratio of cheese to bread).

The best day of my life…
It’s a toss up between my wedding day and the day my daughter Belle was born (just happened on the past Christmas Eve!). One is the day when I married my best friend, and the other is the day that I realized what it means to love like only a mother could love.

I believe….
As Audrey Hepburn put it best, “I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls.”

My favorite thing on my desk is…
A gold fortune cookie that I fill with a new fortune every year for all the wonderful things to come!

Something most people don’t know about me…
I’m an avid collector of gift cards. It’s something my husband and I started when we were dating. Cashiers think it’s really weird when we buy gift cards for $5.00 and then spend it right away on a purchase. We have to explain and say, “We just really wanted to buy the gift card itself.” Afterwards, they still look really confused. My new favorites are the Starbuck gift cards that are Valentine’s Day conversation candy hearts! We are in the process of collecting all the fun sayings like “Home is wherever you are.”
